1. You may contact me by email, telephone or by post. Your enquiry will, of course, be non-committal. To arrive at an estimate, I shall need to know how large your text is (i.e., how many manuscript pages: a standard manuscript page = 1,800 characters, including spaces). I shall also need to know what you want me to do with the text (edit it, proof-read it or rewrite it), and how much time I have for the assignment.
2. Please send me your text as a Microsoft Office Word file. I shall then send you a non-binding estimate. Only after you have signed the offer and returned it to me will the offer become a binding contract, allowing me to begin work on the assignment.
3. I shall rework your text according to your instructions. Unless otherwise stipulated, I shall enter my changes and corrections directly into your file. If you work with Microsoft Word, the program’s ‘Track Changes’ option will enable you to see all of my alterations to your text – and to reject any you disagree with.
4. The reworked text will be returned to you by email within the agreed time-frame. My invoice will be sent to you by post and you will have 14 days in which to settle the bill.
